ADVOCACY IN ACTION May 2017
June 1
The Washington State PTA legislative platform is a two-year platform to mirror the Washington state legislative cycle. The top five issues become our short-term platform and consist of our priority issues when advocating throughout the year. Other issues are placed on an "also supported" list. Learn more about the platform and how to submit an issue proposal here.
Resolutions
June 1
Resolutions guide our advocacy work from the local to the state level. They may be amended and updated, or retired, and are usually broader in scope than legislative issues. Any PTA member is encouraged to submit a resolution that addresses concerns that affect children on a state-wide level. WSPTA resolutions provide support on issues that are not currently covered by National PTA. WSPTA resolutions may not conflict with National PTA resolutions. Learn more about WSPTA resolutions and how to submit a resolution here.
