Why an Auction?

Eastgate Elementary School is a great example of the importance of community, administration, faculty, and parent involvement in the success of educating our children. The PTA funds many key school programs including technology, classroom supplies, assemblies, filed trips, after school activities, math and literacy facilitation and so much more. Your support of PTA provided funds is critical to maintaining Eastgate Elementary School’s level of excellence. The school's auction has historically been the PTA's biggest fundraising event. Our goal for the 2012 “Spread your Wings and Fly” Auction event is to continue that success.
Eastgate PTA Programs Include:
• Art Docent • Back-to-School And School Spirit Events • Classroom Grants • Communication including Eastgate Star eNews, the PTA Website (www.eastgatepta.org) and the Talon • Grade level activities (Toymaker Workshop , Roots of Empathy • 5th Grade Marine Field Trip • Multi-Cultural Week • Library books • PNB 4th Grade Residency Program • Reflections (National Arts Program) • School Pictures and Yearbook • Talent Show • Visiting Instructor Program (VIP) • Science Fair • Science on Wheels • Young Author’s Day • And many more....Get Involved
You or your company may participate by donating gift certificates, unique opportunities, items to be sold at the auction, or by contributing cash and/or services to produce the event. We need your contributions, whether they are personal donations or solicitations from businesses. Be creative! Everyone has something to contribute - consumer electronics or baked goods, professional services, personalized experiences, vacation homes, use of your RV or boat, house cleaning, web design, and much more! Cash or check is perfectly acceptable as well. Call us and we will help you if you still need ideas.
Here are some documents to help you get started....
Tips for Getting Auction Items
Do you know someone who wishes to donate?
If you are an eastgate family and would like to find out about what the Eastgate PTA's bi-annual auction affords our community and may have something to donate - please read the following letter and fill out the following form:
If you know someone that might be able to donate an item, please plan to provide them the following letter about our programs and include a procurement form.
Friends Family and Corporate Letter
If you know someone who might wish to donate cash in the form of a sponsorship, please feel free to print and provide them the following documents:
Friends Family and Corporate Letter
Any item or cash donated will need to have a procurement form written up and a copy turned into the PTA BOX in the copy room by Feburuary 17, 2012. Please make sure that any person or organization that makes a donation through you gets a copy of the filled out procurement form.
BUS STOP BASKETS!
Start with a theme and brainstorm all of the items that go with that theme! A fun & easy way to involve people you already know like home owners associations, soccer teams, cub scouts, girl scouts, bus stop, book club, classrooms or just a group of friends.
Help a neighboring school....
There are three schools that are also having their auctions this year. Volunteering at a neighboring school provides a first hand look at how auctions are done as well as allows our fellow elementary PTAs the ability to enjoy their own functions.
If you are able to help at one of these events please contact Beth Aigbe @ e.aigbe@comcast.net
